Why study in New York?

New York has been one of the most important international centers of the art market since the Second World War. It is also home to a wealth of museums of modern art from the Guggenheim to the Whitney, and from MOMA to the Met. The contemporary art galleries of Chelsea and Williamsburg, artists’ studios and alternative spaces throughout the city, as well as art production facilities such as foundries, print ateliers and conservation laboratories, all offer possibilities for the study and understanding of modern art.

Christie’s Education New York

Christie’s Education New York is situated in the heart of midtown Manhattan, opposite Bryant Park and the New York Public Library, and a short walk from Christie’s salerooms at Rockefeller Center. Students enjoy the use of a reference library, a sizeable study collection of works of art, computer facilities, and access to current periodicals. In addition to this, students regularly use Christie’s salerooms where a large staff of experts and facilities for the close examination of works of art at first hand are available.

Student Support

Students are offered an unparalleled set of resources for professional training, academic learning, and personal growth through the study of the arts. Faculty members work closely with students and students are introduced to visiting lecturers who are world renowned experts in their fields. Teaching is through seminar discussions in small groups where works of art as well as ideas and issues can be examined.
