19 - 20 June 2012
This two-day short course examines the role art schools fulfil in bringing young artists and their work into the contemporary art world. Our case study is the Royal College of Art –the only wholly postgraduate college of art and design in the world-and our focus is on the degree show where graduates of this premiere art college show their final work and enter the professional art world.
Participants will have direct access to the work and show and come in contact with professors from the Fine Art programmes and the artists showing.
On day two, the course will visit the Hayward Gallery exhibition Wide Open School, which will explore alternative models in education by and for artists.
